Terms, conditions, and program disclosures

Certificate program information

Program-specific purpose, scope, intended learning outcomes, requisites, certificate term, fees, passing criteria, and issuance requirements are disclosed on the course page and enrollment materials. IFSHH certificate programs do not currently award academic credit, college credit, CEUs, contact hours, or other continuing-education credit.

Fees, cancellation, and refunds

The Food Handler Training Certificate Program fee is $6.95. Learners may cancel and request a refund at any time before earning a certificate. Requests involving a certificate issued in error will be reviewed for appropriate corrective action. Refund requests will be acknowledged and responded to within one business day.

Technical and participation requirements

Online learners need a compatible internet-connected device and browser that permits required course functionality. English comprehension is strongly recommended. Translation assistance may be available upon request and may involve an additional fee.

Certificate requisites

Learners must complete all eight training sections, required knowledge checks, and the 40-question summative assessment, earning a score of 70% or higher. Certificates are individual and nontransferable. No partial certificate or test-out option is offered.

Complaints and appeals

Complaints and appeals may be submitted regarding any aspect of certificate-program activity. Submissions will be acknowledged within one business day and investigated and resolved in a timely manner consistent with their nature and complexity.

Privacy and confidentiality

Personal information, learner records, assessment materials, results, answer keys, scoring guides, and other confidential information are protected from unauthorized disclosure. IFSHH does not use learner information for solicitation purposes and limits access to authorized personnel with legitimate business needs.

Appropriate interpretation and use of certificates

A certificate documents successful completion of the applicable program and satisfaction of its requisites. It does not represent personnel certification, licensure, accreditation, registration, employment qualification, or professional competency beyond the program’s scope. A holder may accurately state that they successfully completed the program and earned its certificate. The certificate may not be transferred, altered, or used to imply a designation that IFSHH does not grant.

Commercial support

IFSHH does not currently receive commercial support for the development, administration, assessment, or issuance of its certificate programs. Any future support will be disclosed and will not influence program purpose, scope, learning outcomes, assessments, or certificate decisions.

Program changes and availability

IFSHH may revise program content, outcomes, assessments, policies, technical requirements, and other elements as necessary. Significant changes will be communicated to affected stakeholders with an effective date. Programs may periodically be unavailable for maintenance, upgrades, operational needs, or circumstances beyond IFSHH’s control.

Local acceptance

Learners are responsible for confirming acceptance with their employer and applicable state or local authority before purchase. Accreditation does not guarantee acceptance in every jurisdiction, and official government sources control if information conflicts.
